Job Title: Assistant to the Vice President for Finance &

Assist and advise the office of the Vice President for Finance and Administration, and all operating units reporting to the Vice President, on all budgetary, personnel, and planning matters.
Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinate all budget activity, including 70 operating budgets and $28 million for the office of the VPFA and all departments reporting to VPFA. Advise the VPFA on all budget issues. Prepare and maintain documentation, and the base budget reconciliation and wage and salary worksheets.
Maintain detailed balances of special accounts including lapsed salaries, vacant positions, reallocation fund, restricted accounts, equipment allocation, and year end surplus. Assist the VPFA in determining the best use of these funds in order to implement the desired goals and objectives of the unit.
Coordinate all planning activities for the VPFA. Represent the VPFA and all 10 departments as primary contact with the Office of Planning and Budget.
Assist the VPFA in assuring that appropriate capital construction and equipment purchases are approved by, and reported to, the appropriate legislative committees.
Participate in decision making regarding staffing levels as they relate to budget issues in the office of VPFA. Maintain details of salaries and wages for all VPFA departmental personnel. Prepare triptychs for administrative appointments.
Approve expenditures on VPFA office expenditures and determining which account to be charged. Prepare and submit VPFA's quarterly expense report which is submitted to the President
Knowledge, Training and Skills
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Six Years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
