Job Title: Data Base Analyst
Class Code: 000288  

Job Summary

Coordinate computing activities including installing, maintaining, and supporting the use of the database management system software. Assist in developing procedures for analysis and tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities

Install and maintain data base and related software.

Maintain central version (on-line) system; obtain and analyze statistics on performance and activity.

Assist with development of logical data base design and physical structure.

Coordinate and develop training for all OCIS staff for data base and related software.

Design and implement means of backup after system outages.

Develop standards for data base including naming conventions, security strategies, development methods, and documentation criteria.

Interface with operations, technical support, and programming staff for overall strategies and planning.

Act as technical support as needed.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Training and Skills

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.

Experience

Six years of experience.

An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
