JOB TITLE: Grants Manager Specialist

JOB SUMMARY
To assist in processing of grant and contract application and awards, issuing sub-awards, and providing information regarding the application and award process for external grants and contracts.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES
Advise faculty on business, legal and related aspects of grants and contracts.
Assist faculty and departmental personnel with budget preparation and other forms to assure compliance with university and outside agency policies. Review budget information prior to submission of a proposal and sign as authorized university official.
Point and contact person for developing procedures for the electronic submission of grants to federal agencies.
Maintain records and back-up documentation on equipment matching and other supplementary funding.
Prepare annual distribution of Investigator and Departmental Research Incentive Funds.
Prepare sub-awards and modifications of sub-awards to third parties.
Prepare various reports, analyses and other duties as assigned by the Manager of Grants and Contracts.
Review award information prepared by the Information Processing Specialist prior to entry in the data base.
KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING & SKILLS
Bachelor's degree in a related field.
EXPERIENCE
Five years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
