JOB TITLE: Assistant Director, Planning, Design &

Plan and manage the design and funding arrangements for capital construction projects and assist the Director in the administration of the department.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct and review proposals from consultants and contractors working on University facilities.
Supervise the development of facilities planning design and construction for new and renovation construction.
Develop budget recommendations and approve expenditures for construction, movable equipment and campus improvements.
Supervise professional staff working on all renovation and capital construction projects.
Evaluate proposed designs regarding function and budget considerations for both in-house and consultant work.
Prepare funding proposals for University capital projects.
Analyze and respond to code review by state agencies.
Develop recommendations for long range facilities planning and property acquisitions.
Represent the University in funding and planning matters with state and local agencies.
Select, train, and direct non-supervisory staff.
KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING & SKILLS
Bachelor's Degree. Professional Architectural Registration.
Seven years of related Professional Architectural experience. An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
