Professional/Administrative Job Specification 

Job Title: Assistant to the Vice President, Development and Alumni
Class Code: 000170  

Job Summary

Assist the Vice President with the administrative and budgetary operations of the unit and coordinate the activities of all office reporting to the Vice President.

Duties and Responsibilities

Assist the Vice President in the day-to-day operation of the unit; determine and implement unit policies and procedures.

Coordinate plans for a variety of events and projects including "UofL Today & Tomorrow," all programmed entertainment hosted by the Vice President and other special activities.

Assist the Vice President and unit heads with budgetary and personnel matters to include serving as unit Affirmative Action Coordinator.

Monitor progress being made on unit priorities for action in the strategic planning process and on relevant items in the President's Operational Plan.

Coordinate the preparation of all unit-wide documents including budget requests and strategic plan reports.

Attend and report on meetings in the Vice President's absence; initiate required follow-up.

Prepare responses to special requests from Trustees, Overseers, major donors, etc.

Perform other related duties as required.

Knowledge, Training and Skills

Bachelor's degree in Office Administration, Management, Public Relations, or related area. Experience

Five years of related experience.

An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
