JOB TITLE: Director, IT - Consulting Services
CLASS CODE: 000146  

JOB SUMMARY

Direct and control the Consulting Services unit within Information Technology. 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES

Lead and manage the human resources of the unit, including personnel functions (recruiting, hiring, training, career planning, staff development and training, evaluation, discipline, etc.), cultivating team management and productivity.

Encourage innovation and improved delivery of consulting services, including: LAN consulting, hardware/software consulting, research support, statistical consulting, University engineering services, copier/laser consulting, PROFS consulting, Helpdesk, telephone directory and operator services, and work orders and service requests. 

Develop and implement unit's long range and short term service plans. Coordinate planning with other Information Technology (IT) service units and assist with IT-wide planning efforts.

Prepare and manage unit budget, including resource development and revenue generation, monitor expenditures and revenue, and manage projects including staffing and scheduling.

Develop and promote the Consulting Services' relationship with its customers and other IT service units. Maintain service levels and customer satisfaction.

Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING & SKILLS

Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Data Processing/MIS, Computer Science, Liberal Arts or related field. 

EXPERIENCE

Seven years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted
