Job Title: Assistant Director, Physical Plant Maintenance

Direct all activities related to non-mechanical/electrical maintenance and renovation of Belknap and Shelby campus buildings.
Duties and Responsibilities
Plan, schedule and coordinate all architectural building maintenance and renovation projects for Belknap and Shelby campuses.
Responsible for all roof maintenance activities, monitor effectiveness of current maintenance contract and recommend changes as needed.
Monitor and follow up on all safety rules and procedures. Review and implement controls to ensure all maintenance and renovation work is handled within the parameters of the Kentucky Building Code.
Implement and enforce all Physical Plant Personnel Policy Guidelines and the University Staff Handbook. Monitor training needs and make recommendations to the Director of Physical Plant.
Maintain files and budget responsibility on all renovation projects, major maintenance work and roof repairs.
Plan schedule and coordinate work involving grounds department and fleet garage.
Serve as the contact person for Physical Plant in all asbestos concerns.
Knowledge, Training and Skills
Bachelor's degree in related engineering field or the equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
Nine years of building construction experience.
