Job Title: Unit Business Manager Senior
Class Code: 000108  

Job Summary

Direct the administration of the finances and business services of a college or major department/unit.

Duties and Responsibilities

Plan, direct and control the fiscal and administrative activities of the department/unit.

Provide financial advice to the dean, director and/or departmental head.

Oversee the preparation of financial reports and statements.

Review and authorize personnel/payroll documents, purchases, and requests.

Interview, hire, train and direct clerical support staff.

Analyze systems, policies and procedures and initiate changes to provide effective business management.

Serve as primary financial and business resource person for the department/unit.

Participate in meetings and seminars on financial and administrative matters.

Oversee the personnel transactions of the unit.

Prepare budget estimates, maintain expenditures and implement budget changes.

Coordinate budget analysis projects.

Prepare financial reports involving research data gathering, compilation and analysis.

Coordinate the preparation of printed materials.

Manage the business, administrative and operational matters of the unit.

Perform related duties as assigned by the appropriate Dean or Director.

Knowledge, Training and Skills

Master's degree in Business or related field.

Experience

Five years of related Business experience. An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
