Develop, implement and maintain a program of academic support for law students. Assist law school faculty and staff in identifying and counseling at-risk students. Recruit, train and supervise upper-class law students who will serve as academic counselors. Monitor results of program and modify where necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and direct advising and counseling services for academically at-risk students.
Develop, conduct and supervise individual and group sessions on learning strategies, note taking, time management and exam preparation.
Coordinate and develop with faculty a program to address substantive academic deficiencies.
Develop and implement mechanisms for law school faculty and staff to identify and refer at-risk students.
Develop and maintain a means of tracking and reporting results over duration of program.
Recruit and train practicing lawyers, upper-class law students and/or student organizations to serve as academic counselors.
Knowledge, Training and Skills
J.D. (Juris Doctor) degree.
Two years of related experience.
