JOB SUMMARY
Manage and direct the University's Radiation Safety Program.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Review and approve research projects involving radioisotopes.
Maintain knowledge of and interpret laws and regulations concerning use, storage, and disposal of radioactivity.
Develop programs for education and training of personnel in the safe handling and disposal of radioactive materials.
Respond to radiation safety hazards and emergencies.
Prepare and administer Radiation Safety Office budget.
Supervise the computerization of the University Radiation Safety Office.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING AND SKILLS
Bachelor's degree in Health Physics, Physics, Nuclear Engineering, Biology or related field. Meet eligibility criteria for certification by the American Board of Health Physics.
EXPERIENCE
Five years of relevant experience.
