Direct the operational, financial and personnel activities related to computer operations, data preparation, data library and job control units.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the operation and maintenance of computing and data preparation hardware and production of administrative application systems.
Develop, implement and review operating procedures and standards.
Consult and coordinate with users to determine specific needs and schedule available resources according to priorities and time constraints.
Investigate problem areas and recommend ways to improve productivity and provide more efficient services.
Develop, acquire and implement hardware and software for computer operations.
Consult with vendors concerning equipment procurement, installation and maintenance.
Train, direct and evaluate technical staff.
Prepare budget estimates and monitor expenditures.
KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING AND SKILLS
Bachelor's degree in Data Processing or related field. An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
Seven years of experience in Computer Operations with supervisory responsibility.
