Job Summary
Provide academic counseling services from admission through graduation for approximately 10,000 students in the College of Arts and Sciences.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and disseminate a mission statement for the Academic Advising Center.
Develop programs that provide opportunities for students to become aware and develop as individuals preparing for a variety of life roles.
Supervise academic counselors including training, evaluation, and professional development.
Develop new modes of delivery of academic advising.
Manage the Academic Advising Center including budget preparation, periodic audit and revision of procedures, and facilities improvement as needed.
Develop positive relationships within the College of Arts and Sciences.
Develop and implement a comprehensive, systematic evaluation of the Center.
Develop effective relations with external units.
Supervise the Office Manager.
Assume additional responsibilities as determined by the Dean.
Knowledge, Training and Skills
Doctorate degree in Counseling, Student Development, Higher Education Administration or related Academic Area.
Experience
Three years of related experience.
