Plan and direct the programming, coordination, design and space plan of furnishings and equipment for new and renovated interior spaces on all University campuses.


Assign interior design projects to staff.

Provide interior space planning, layout and design by consulting  with faculty and staff involved with the construction project.

Supervise and evaluate interior design staff position performance.

Prepare architectural and structural drawings.

Educate University community on furnishing code requirements.

Prepare renovation drawings indicating space allotment and furniture layouts for installation purposes.

Monitor all departments furnishing purchases for fire code compliance.

Prepare budget estimates and furniture specifications.

Develop and maintain University's building Signage program.

Oversee construction and furniture delivery and installation.

Recommend products for University price contacts.

Consult with vendors, suppliers and manufacturers' representatives to provide appropriate movable equipment and furnishings for assigned projects.

Evaluate design firms for design service price contracts.

Administrative management of interior design projects contracted with local design and architectural firms.


Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or related field.


Three years of related experience.  An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
