Job Summary

To plan, coordinate and publicize international education programs, advise students and faculty regarding opportunties for study, research and teaching abroad and manage International Center scholarships.

Duties and Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, publicize and evaluate international education programs. Organize Fall and Spring Education Abroad Fairs.

Advise students and staff interested in study/research/work travel abroad opportunities; advise faculty regarding teaching and research opportunities.

Act as campus representative for the Cooperative Center for Study Abroad (CCSA) and the Kentucky Institute for International Studies (KIIS) consortium. Work closely with University of Louisville faculty teaching on or directing these programs. Conduct orientations for students participating on programs.

Coordinate and publicize special programs such as the Montpellier Work Exchange and Kansai Gaidai Program. Arrange housing for students. Recruit employers, sponsors and host families for students. Conduct orientations for all participants.

Assist departments/units in developing exchange agreements with foreign institutions.

Manage student exchanges and direct enrollments, coordinate with foreign institutions.

Manage the International Center Scholarships. Organize scholarship commitees. Research and distribute information regarding other scholarships available to students.

Maintain and update international education resource library. Maintain International Center's WWW page outlining education abroad opportunities.

Knowledge, Training and Skills

Bachelor's degree in Internatioanl Relations, social sciences, education, counseling or foreign languages.


Two years of related experience.

An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
