Job Summary

Manages Insurance/Billing Department, including contract/agreement development, physician credentialing coordination, special billing processing and financial systems implementation and testing.

Duties and Responsibilities

Manages all insurance/billing office functions, including establishment and monitoring of operational standards and development/maintenance of programs, policies and procedures.

Develops and maintains all contracts/agreements with numerous insurance carriers, coordinates physician/provider credentialing and updates provider files.

Tests, implements and maintains software system integrity; establishes database, design forms and billing statements and develops/facilitates training for department staff, MD's, NP's, PA's and medical students.

Researchers and communicates on insurance coverage, policies and procedures; oversees in-house audits and maintains resource materials.

Employs, trains and supervises departmental staff.

Complies periodic statistics and prepares various reports.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Training and Skills

Bachelor's degree in a related field


Four years of related experience.  An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
