Job Summary

Plan and coordinate programs related to the University's extramural grant solicitations. Provide support for faculty and staff in their efforts to secure funding for special projects. Assist faculty in developing grant and contract proposals.

Duties and Responsibilities

Identify appropriate University faculty to respond to specific extramural solicitations.

Assist faculty in the development of grant and contract proposals.

Coordinate and organize the implementation of multi-investigator/center projects.

Maintain working knowledge of current research interests of faculty.

Represent the Vice President for Research through interactions with university groups, federal agencies, and private organizations.

Plan and conduct grantsmanship workshops for University groups.

Communicate with external funding offices to clarify current procedures, guidelines and policies.

Oversee and maintain contents of grants and contracts library.

Provide administrative management of extramural programs as assigned.

Knowledge, Training and Skills

Master's degree with coursework in Research Methodology.


Four years of experience in Research related field, two of which may be required to be in research administration.

An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
