Job Summary

Manage, coordinate and supervise all financial and operational activities of the campus mail service.

Duties and Responsibilities

Supervise and monitor the collection, sorting and distribution of University mail on three campuses.

Assure that mailing equipment and delivery trucks are maintained in acceptable operating condition at all times.

Maintain continuing contact with U.S. Post Office and assure that all required records are maintained and postal regulations are followed.

Supervise the preparation of operating procedures, the distribution of postal regulations and pick-up and delivery schedule are followed.

Plan and prepare departmental budget for staff and equipment. Supervise preparation of income and expense records and the preparation of necessary records and monthly, quarterly or annual management reports.

Initiate necessary action related to scheduling, the administration of personnel policies and salary recommendations.

Provide information to faculty, staff and students relating to campus mail services and pertinent U.S. Postal regulations.

Interview, select, train and evaluate all postal service employees.

Perform related duties as required.

Knowledge, Training and Skills

Associates degree in Business or related field. An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.


Five years of progressively responsible management and supervisory experience.
