"Two-Employee" Premium Rate
When a husband and wife are both regular status, 80% or greater FTE employees at the university and they have dependents and want coverage for them, and both choose the same health insurance plan, they will be eligible for a special "two employee" rate for their family's health insurance coverage. If one of the two spouses changes employment status and no longer satisfies the regular status 80% or greater FTE requirement; the remaining eligible employee must begin paying the regular family premium rate, or make other coverage changes as permitted by law.
If your spouse is not a regular status, 80% or greater FTE employee now, but later becomes one, be sure to notify the Benefits Office so you can take advantage of the lower premium rate.
