Short Term Disability

Regular Status U of L employees who work at least 15 hours per week have the option to enroll in a short-term disability insurance plan (STD) as part of the voluntary benefits the university offers. Under the short-term disability plan, employees can receive up to 60% of the employee's salary (maximum of $3000 per month) in coverage. Further, STD covers on and off- the-job accidental injuries as early as the first day of total disability Covers on and off-the-job sicknesses as early as the 15th day of total disability. Benefits can begin on the 1st day admitted, if hospitalized for a covered sickness.
