It is the policy of the University to employ, and advance in employment, qualified disabled veterans and veterans of the Vietnam era at all levels within the University.

The University shall review its personnel procedures on an ongoing basis to determine whether it assures careful, thorough and systematic consideration of the job qualifications of known disabled veteran and Vietnam era veteran applicants for job vacancies. These are filled either by hiring or promoting. Similar procedures are used for all available training opportunities. The University shall review all physical and mental job qualifications and requirements to assure that they are job-related and consistent with business necessity and the safe performance of the job.

It is also the policy of the University that it shall undertake appropriate outreach and positive recruitment activities to provide employment and promotional opportunities for qualified disabled veterans and veterans of the Vietnam era. Reasonable accommodation shall be made to the physical and mental limitations of disabled veterans. Compensation shall be determined without regard to any disability income, pension, or other benefit that the applicant or employee receives from any other University source.
