Summer Application:

All students must complete the online application. Please read all the information before clicking the link at the bottom of the page. The priority deadline for a summer housing reservations is April 20, 2009. No housing can be assured for requests received after the deadline. Assignments will be emailed to you by April 20, 2008.

Summer Buildings

Center Hall and University Tower Apartments (UTA) undergraduate floors (7-11) will house summer school students.

Summer Rental Rates

All rates are available on the rates page. The rate is specific to the room or apartment type and number of roommates in the unit. The rate is a nightly charge so select your move in and move out date carefully and indicate clearly the number of nights you elect to stay on campus. Also pay close attention to the summer term dates and housing summer cancellation policies.

Eligibility

Preference will be given to registered full-time students. A student must take at least one summer course to be eligible to stay on campus.

Summer Term Dates

Full summer rent will constitute dates from May 1 to August 19, 2009.

Current residents will move to summer assignments on May 6 and 7 th, 3-9 PM.

• In order to facilitate transition between Summer and Fall term assignments, summer students with on-campus housing for the fall will be required to move to their fall assignments on or before the 3 rd week in August.
• If you choose to remain on campus between May1 and May 10 th 2009 your student account will be billed $18.00 per night. Only those students with a summer assignment may live on campus during this period.
• For students who would like to check-out between the Spring and Summer Semester, you will check-out by noon, May 1, 2009, and move into your summer assignment on Sunday, May 10, 2009, 7-10 PM.
• If you are a New Resident Checking in for summer. Plan to move in Saturday May 9 th 1-5 PM or Sunday May 10 th 7- 10 PM. If you are unable to make the scheduled check in times a mandatory advance appointment is required. Center Hall Office 854-3832or University Tower Apartment Office 854-3220.
• Speed School Term ends on July 23, 2009. If you are not planning to stay on campus during the summer after the Speed Term ends, your check-out date will be on 7/26/08. Contact your RA for an appointment to check out.
• Students NOT registered for Fall 2009 traditional housing must check out before August 8, 2009.

Outstanding Balance

Students with outstanding balances will not be allowed to live in the residence hall. Proof of full payment must be received before student can apply or move into summer residence.

Summer Cancellation Policy:

A summer assignment must be canceled in writing to the Housing and Residence Life Office, Stevenson Hall #124, two (2) weeks prior to the time you are scheduled to move in. Failure to follow this procedure or not check into your room within one (1) week after the date requested (no-show), will result in a $100.00 cancellation/no-show fee. Withdrawal during the summer semester requires written documentation from the Registrar. Your student account will be charged the $100.00 cancellation fee and two (2) weeks rental fees. You will be billed for the dates requested. There will be “NO REFUNDS” if you choose to move-out before the dates indicated on your electronic Summer Housing Application Form. Make sure your requested dates are correct.

Summer Rent Refunds: No rent will be refunded once you check in and the summer term begins. Appeals may be made for early check out and will be reviewed on an individual basis. Special circumstances include medical conditions or university class cancellations. Documentation is required. If appeal is approved, a $100.00 cancellation fee will still apply.
