- Illegal cooking device use: Toaster ovens, toasters, hot plates & indoor/outdoor grills are not permitted in the halls or on balconies. Use of cooking appliances in rooms is limited to reheating and basic microwave use. Microwaves when not properly used or monitored have caused the activation of the fire detection and alarm systems, which could result in being processed through the discipline system. (See Electrical Appliances under Safety and Security section for more details.)

- Furniture Violations: Includes moving lounge or other University furniture from its designated area without prior permission from the resident director.
- Noise: Includes any noise from a room or common area that is disturbing to other residents or staff. Quiet hours designated by a floor do not supersede policy. Regardless of time of day if a student makes a reasonable request of another student to be less noisy, that student should comply.
- Study Hour Violation: Includes any noise that is disturbing to a resident's ability to study or otherwise prepare for classes during the hours of 10 pm-8 am Sunday-Thursday and midnight - 8 am Friday and Saturday (known as study hours). During exam periods, quiet hours are extended to 24 hours. This regulation also applies to all public spaces. In the event a group makes a disturbance (ex. card or game playing, watching TV or yelling loudly), staff will request violators to leave immediately. Continued noise violations may result in students being required to remove stereo equipment, TVs or other noise generating equipment from the residence hall.
- Pets: Includes possessing any pets in the halls other than fish or bringing animals into the building for any reason without permission from Housing. Aquariums must be 30 gallons or under. Because some people may be allergic to or distressed by your pet, no animals, except for fish, are permitted, including birds and laboratory specimens. A student with a disability may have a service animal living with her/him as long as the Housing Office has been notified. When a violation occurs, public health regulations require sanitation, disease control procedures, and deodorization, for which the violator will be charged. Charges may also be assessed if animal control must be called due to a violation of this policy.
- Visitation Policy: Includes violating the visitation policy in effect in any hall. (See Policies)
