At UofL, Housing and Residence Life is truly one of its kind.  We are growing by leaps and bounds in an unprecedented manner.    To serve our students in the most efficient and effective manner possible and offer students a wide variety of living arrangements, housing options  include the largest and widest choices ever by partnering with outside private and community housing developers/affiliates.

Services include traditional hall living for freshmen and those students interested in a more structured environment. In addition, returning students and upper classmen may choose to live in two and three bedroom suites, double rooms, or private rooms.  Housing also provides on-campus apartment-style living for upper classmen and graduate students.

To expand student housing services even further, Residence Life partners with EDRTrust a private developer who manages University of Louisville Properties.  This management team offers a variety of housing options on Belknap Campus, including  suites and apartments with various floor plans.

The Province managed by the Edwards Communities management team is also affiliated with Housing and Residence Life.   This college-town development houses over 800 students and offers many amenities for enjoyable campus living.

University Park Apartments, located a few blocks from Belknap Campus, is affiliated with the University.  This privately-owned complex offers a variety of apartment style living arrangements for UofL students who are over the age of 21.

Phoenix Place is another facility that serves UofL students.  It is located within walking distance of the UofL Medical and Dental Schools.  The location offers efficiencies, one and two bedroom apartments and townhomes near the downtown medical complex.

In addition, the UofL Foundation approved development of the Stoddard Johnston Building located at the edge of campus.  This facility will house 35-40 graduate and family apartments and is due to be completed Spring 2010.

Housing and Residence Life created this unique service provision model  to reflect the different developmental levels  of our students.  Specific elements in each of the types of living arrangements meet  the requirements of our students as follows:
