Leadership Quest Community

Leadership Quest is a first year student leadership development program that brings together students passionate about leadership and service in a dynamic, engaging environment. The residential component of the program is not required but those who choose it will participate in an exploration of various leadership opportunities through programming, services, and connections to campus and community resources. This community will be housed in Center Hall which is part of The Complex. Residents from anywhere on campus as well as commuters participate in the program.

As a student living in the LQ, you can expect to receive the following services:

a Peer Mentor to assist you with the transition from high school to college (first year students)
opportunities to meet campus and community leaders outside the classroom setting
programs to assist you in becoming more successful as a student and a leader
social activities to assist you in getting to know community members better

Agreement for living in Leadership Quest

As a member of Leadership Quest, I understand the opportunities and the reciprocal commitment outlined below. I understand that it is important for me as a community member to participate.

I will be reassigned (moved to Center Hall) in order to participate in this community (Required)

If you already have been assigned, select your current assignment

You will be moved from your current assignment to the Leadership Quest Community

I will keep every Wednesday evening from 7:00 – 9:00pm free beginning August 31, 2011 for LLLC activities, by not registering for classes, discussion sections, or lab sections during this time throughout 2011 - 12. (Required)

I will meet with my mentor. (first year students)

I will abide by all relevant Housing and Residence Life regulations (Required)

I will commit myself to learning about myself, my leadership and how to work well with others as I engage in the Leadership LLC. (Required)

I will attend the required LLLC activities. If I miss more than two events without advance notice, I understand I risk losing the receipt of a letter of recommendation upon completion of the academic year. (Required)

I will participate in the Leadership Legacy program by attending planning meetings and participating in related projects. More details will be provided. (Required)
