The University Honors Program is pleased to be hosting the Spring 2020 Kentucky Honors Roundtable on the Belknap Campus of the University of Louisville. Please read all of the information below regarding accommodations, submissions, registration, and other important topics.

Hotel Information

We have secured a block of rooms at the Springhill Suites by Marriott - Louisville Airport (820 Phillips Lane, Louisville, KY 40209) for $127.00 per room. A hot continental breakfast and internet access are included in this price. The director of each honors program must call to book rooms by Friday, February 7, 2020. Reservations must be secured by a credit card that will not be charged until you arrive. Please submit your tax exempt forms to the hotel before you arrive if possible.

You can book your rooms by calling the hotel directly at (502) 361-9009 and referencing the group name "Kentucky Honors Roundtable." There are 25 double suites that include two double beds and a sofa bed (maximum occupancy: 6) and 25 king suites with a king bed and a sofa bed (maximum occupancy: 4) available. Please try to book the fewest rooms possible that will comfortably accommodate your group.

Check-in begins at 3:00 PM on Friday, February 28. Check-out is by 11:00 AM on Saturday, Feb 29. We recommend loading luggage back into your vehicles and checking out before traveling to campus for the beginning of Saturday's presentations.

Submissions

Submissions for the 2020 KHR at UofL are now closed. Thank you to those who submitted! You will hear back by Friday, February 7 with a decision.

Registration

Please email a list of participants to Luke Buckman (luke.buckman@louisville.edu) and Dr. Joy Hart (joy.hart@louisville.edu) by 4:00 p.m. on Monday, February 10. Please include any dietary restrictions and/or other needed accommodations in this email.

Parking

Friday, February 28: There is free parking available at the University Club/Alumni Center, which is also the location of the welcome dinner. The address is 200 E Brandeis Ave, Louisville, KY 40208. The parking booth is usually not occupied, but if you are requested to provide a reason for parking, tell them you are attending the Kentucky Honors Roundtable dinner. Local directions to the University Club are as follows:

I-65 From The South
I-65 North to the University Boulevard exit; go left on University Boulevard to Floyd Street, then turn right; follow Floyd to Cardinal Boulevard and go left at round-a-bout; follow Cardinal Blvd/Brandeis under the overpass, through the next light, then left onto South First Street. (Belknap Campus North Entrance); go to the stop sign and turn left; follow this street to the University Club and Alumni Center; free parking is on the left of the building.

I-65 From The North
I-65 to Arthur Street exit; follow Arthur Street to the stop sign and turn right onto Brandeis/Cardinal Boulevard; go straight through the round-a-bout; under the overpass, through the next light, then left onto South First Street. (Belknap Campus North Entrance); go to the stop sign and turn left; follow this street to the University Club and Alumni Center; free parking is on the left of the building (Belknap Campus North Entrance); go to the stop sign and turn left; follow this street to the University Club and Alumni Center; free parking is to the left of the building.

From the Highlands-Eastern Parkway-Bardstown Road
From Bardstown Road take Eastern Parkway to Third Street and turn right; follow Third Street to Cardinal Boulevard and turn right; follow Cardinal Blvd/Brandeis to South First Street (Belknap Campus North Entrance) and turn right onto campus; go to the stop sign and turn left; follow this street to the University Club and Alumni Center; free parking is to the left of the building.

Saturday, February 29: On the weekends, most lots on campus become open/free - signage will indicate which ones. The Parking Office has suggested three lots for Saturday parking. They are circled in red below - the Miller IT Lot off of Brook Street (excluding the handicap/accessible spaces), the Fairfax lot across the street from the Miller IT lot, and the Speed School lot (off of Eastern Parkway).

The University Club/Alumni Center Lot that you will park in on Friday evening will be open and free on Saturday as well and is about the same distance to the BAB as the Speed School lot.

2 marks the Belknap Academic Building.

3 marks the Ville Grill, the campus dining hall. Attendees will receive a voucher for Saturday's lunch.

3:00 PM - Check-in opens at the Springhill Suites Louisville Airport Hotel

5:30 PM--7:00 PM - Welcome dinner at the University Club

7:30 PM - Production of John Guare's Six Degrees of Separation, presented by the University of Louisville’s Theatre Arts Department

Saturday, February 29

Prior to campus arrival - Complimentary hot breakfast buffet at the hotel

7:45 - 8:20 AM - Check-in and set-up at the Belknap Academic Building

8:30 AM - Beginning of presentations

11:30--1:00 - Lunch break

3:00 PM - End of presentations and farewell
