We need everyone's input on this analysis--we need to know what you
need from a university web site. Decide which user categories you fit
into and think about what kinds of things you would need. If you have any
needs which are not on this list, or if you think of another user
category please send a note to

Who would use a university web site
and what would they need?
- Prospective students
- General information about the University
- General information about each college and academic department
- Information about each degree program offered
- Instructions on how to apply, along with the applications on-line
- Whom the student should contact for further information and course
of action
- Admissions and financial aid criteria and information
- Course descriptions
- Current course listings/schedules
- Student Government Association
- Recognized Student Organizations
- Campus Life information, including Housing and Residence Life,
dining services, bookstores, activities, etc.
- Campus tours and maps
- Calendar of events
- Library catalog
- Student services
- Continuing education
- People looking for the e-mail address or phone number of
someone at UofL. This includes people outside UofL as well as our own
faculty, staff, and students
- A comprehensive, searchable directory which should include all
faculty, staff, and students. It should be searchable with each record
field. Personal information such as home address would not necessarily be
listed, especially for faculty and staff.
