UofL COBRE faculty featured at ESBRA and on cover of Am J Path

Dr. Swati Joshi-Barve and colleagues (Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition, Department of Medicine) were awarded a “Distinguished Poster” at the 16^th ESBRA Congress in Crete, Greece in October for their work on “Acrolein, a by-product of alcohol-induced lipid peroxidation, impairs intestinal epithelial barrier function and causes gut permeability”.  This work formed the basis for the cover article of the December, 2017 issue of the American Journal of Pathology.
