EAT! (Eating Awareness Training)

EAT Workshop: Fall 2018

Please check back for Fall 2018 dates.

  • Participants will learn and practice strategies to apply mindfulness and meditation to eating and food choices.
  • We will consider hunger, fullness, satiety, taste satisfaction, emotional eating and favorite foods.
  • Skillful facilitators will guide instruction, practice and discussion.
  • Workshops will NOT focus on behavior change or correcting deficits.
  • Instead, the workshop goal is for each individual to explore the basic skills that support a mindful eating practice and increase the capacity to fully and accurately experience food and eating.
  • Why choose mindful eating?
Consider the benefits of fully and accurately experiencing food and eating:
    • Mindful meditations and guided eating experiences in the classes will help transfer knowledge (facts, information) into more easily making daily food decisions (inner wisdom)
    • Identify habits and patterns with food that may hinder and/or enhance your eating
    • Ability to differentiate hunger, fullness, satiety and taste satisfaction
    • Develop your own wisdom about what, when and how much to eat
    • Transforms struggles with food and renews our sense of pleasure, appreciation and satisfaction with eating.
  • Enrollment required and limited to 14 registrants.
