Completing Exams

a.jpg
Description

Most graduate programs require that students complete a comprehensive exam toward the end of graduate study or once coursework is complete. The structure and content of the exams vary by academic program. Some exams are oral while most are written. Be sure to have a thorough understanding of your program’s requirements of the exam (date eligible, format/structure, pass/fail policy, preparation timeline, etc). We suggest that students meet with faculty within their academic unit regarding the exam, so as to be prepared with a complete understanding of the requirements and expectations. Most importantly, be sure to allow yourself ample time to prepare for the exam as many are cumulative and therefore require that you revisit some concepts from early in your graduate program.
