Transitioning into Professional Life

l
Description

The transition to professional life upon completion of your graduate degree can be a time of anxiousness and uncertainty.  Whether or not you are beginning a new position or returning to one previously held, you are a different person now that your graduate degree is complete.  If you choose to remain at the same place of employment upon completion, it is also important to determine whether you will be eligible for a promotion or salary increase. It is also important to create realistic professional goals and expectations for yourself.  Many students struggle with the newfound time that completion of a graduate degree provides.  Other students have difficulty restructuring their schedules to allow more time with family and friends, who were possibly neglected throughout your graduate studies.
