The workshop will briefly review the foundation of the IRB and the protection of human subjects in research. The presenter will discuss the three levels of IRB submissions that include exempt, expedited, and full board review. The issues of informed consent and risk/benefit analysis will also be included in the presentation. Attendees will have opportunities to ask questions pertaining to personal research interest and IRB expectations at the end of the presentation.
