Room 223 functions as a student study room and features two desktop PCs for general use, as well as an extensive library of Geography/Geoscience journals and books.  The Geography Club has recently made great improvements to 223, furnishing it with sofas and desks to foster a community learning atmosphere.

The backbone of the department's computer network is a Dell PowerEdge 2900 server running Windows 2000 Server.  This server is responsible for serving GIS data and software licenses to the Geography department and many other GIS users across UofL's campus, as well as providing a central platform for department network management.
