Even after a great New Student Orientation experience, it's common to have more questions throughout the summer before classes begin. First Year Initiatives makes it as easy as possible for you to get the answers you need, as simply as possible. That's why all first time freshmen and many transfer students will have an upperclass student who is online in July and August to offer you personalized summer support.
If you attended Summer Orientation as a first time freshman, your SOSer will be the one emailing you, whereas participating transfer students will be paired with a REACH-SMART Ambassador. They'll share their experience and advice on everything from what to expect from your professors to the best place to hang out on campus and around Louisville. Of course, they're also there to answer your questions and address any worries that crop up before school starts.
