Like most incoming students, this is probably the first time you have heard
of "STOMP," but be assured that it won’t be the last. The Student Tutorial
On-line Module Program (STOMP) is an interactive, educational, and entertaining
way for you to learn important information that will help ease your transition
into college life. The modules are not only there to help you succeed during
your first year, but also all along your path to graduation. As part of the
academic orientation course that most students will take in the fall semester,
the STOMP modules will inform students of opportunities to get involved in
campus activities; the do’s and don’ts of interacting with faculty; and academic
policies, procedures, and support offices—just to name a few of the topics that
will be covered, and just like the other First Year Initiatives, STOMP will help
you learn more about the Civic, Academic, Personal and Social aspects of UofL so
that you can be successful both inside and outside of the classroom. (New
students who are not enrolled in the academic orientation course are encouraged
to watch the modules too, but will need to contact FYIatUL@louisville.edu for
access to them.)
