This I Believe

The Personal Philosophies of Remarkable Men and Women

“This I Believe is an exercise in philosophical self-examination in a public context. It rises from the grass roots, where people can begin to listen to each other, one at a time.”
~ Jay Allison, (p. 6)

 Essay Contest

Central to the Book-in-Common program is an exploration of how our personal beliefs and experiences are both shared and divergent. With This I Believe, we have an opportunity to extend that conversation to a wider audience through the collection and compilation of personal belief statements.  We invite submissions from all our UofL faculty, staff, students and alumni as well as friends of the university who are our neighbors in the city of Louisville, throughout Kentucky, and beyond.  We hope that you will add your voice to this unique project.
