Satisfactory Academic Progress: Clearance Request
All U of L enrolled students are evaluated annually for satisfactory academic progress for future federal aid eligibility. Students must meet the requirements of this policy in order to be eligible for Federal Pell Grant, Stafford Loan, Work Study, Nursing Loan, CAP Grant, Perkins Loan, SEOG, or PLUS Loans for future semesters. The policy evaluates the following factors:
GPA: Grade Point Average (GPA) is a qualitative evaluation which measures whether an undergraduate student who has earned 60 hours or more has a University (not program) cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better.
FAYE: Financial Aid Years of Eligibility is an index establishing limitations on the cumulative length of time that a student may be enrolled in a degree program and receive consideration for federal financial aid awards.
FEH: Financial-aid Earned Hours is a qualitative measure used to evaluate minimum financial aid earned hours during each term for which federal aid was disbursed.
