Types of Aid at UofL
The University of Louisville provides several types of federal, state, and institutional aid to its students. Please take a moment to review each of these aid programs in more detail by selecting a link below.
Grants - Grants are a form of financial aid that do not have to be repaid.
Loans - Loans are a financial source that are available to students and their parents through student loan programs with varying interest rates and repayment provisions to supplement the family's financial resources, scholarships, and grants. Loans must be repaid.
Work-Study - The Federal Work-Study program allows eligible students to work part-time on campus.
Scholarships - Scholarships do not have to be repaid and may come from a variety of sources and be based on a number of eligibility criteria.
State Aid - State aid programs are a source of financial aid that are available to Kentucky resident students.
Tuition Waivers - Tuition waivers are available to students who meet certain eligibility criteria that have been created by the state.
