Payroll 101: Direct Deposit Information

With direct deposit your wages will be transferred electronically from the university's account into your account. A statement, similar to a pay stub, will be available online for each pay period.

There are several benefits when using direct deposit:

    • It is safer and more convenient.
    • The money is deposited on payday even if you miss work on a payday, No need to worry about losing a paycheck or having it stolen before you can get to the bank.
    • Your money begins earning interest as soon as it's deposited into your account.

You'll be asked to provide a voided deposit slip or check, as it contains the necessary information for deposit into your preferred checking or savings account. It is your choice of institution (bank, credit union, or savings and loan institution)and account (checking or savings) for these monies to be deposited.

Submit a completed direct deposit form, along with a voided check or deposit slip, to the Payroll Office for processing. You may also choose to request payment using a re-loadable plastic check managed by PNC Bank, information is included with the direct deposit form.
