Brief Bio:
Noell L. Rowan is Director of BSW Program and Assistant Professor, Kent School of Social Work, University of Louisville. She earned her BSW and MSW from University of Georgia and her Ph.D. in social work from the joint program of University of Louisville and University of Kentucky. She has 20 years of experience as a social work clinical practitioner primarily in the areas of mental health and addictions and has LCSW in both Kentucky and Indiana, CADC and ACSW. In 2010, she was selected as one of six national Hartford Geriatric Social Work Faculty Scholars wherein she will conduct research to explore resiliency and quality of life in older lesbian adults with alcoholism. The Faculty Scholars Program is one of five programs funded as part of a John A. Hartford Foundation initiative to enhance the capacity of social work education to meet the needs of the nation’s older adults and their families.
