Bio

Denise Tanner received her B.A. in English from Indiana University Southeast in 1997, a Master of Arts in English at the University of Louisville in 2000, and a Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Writing at Spalding University in 2004. She began her teaching career in literature as a GTA for Indiana University Southeast in 1998. From 1999 to 2004, she taught a variety of English classes as an adjunct for IUS, JCC, and U of L. In 2004, she began teaching full time as a term faculty member at the University of Louisville, where she eventually developed online classes in Composition and Business Writing. Currently, Denise teaches both Business Writing and Freshman Composition online.

Courses Taught

Prerequisite: ENGL 102 or 105. Note: Approved for the Arts and Sciences upper-level requirement in written communication (WR). Designed for advanced Business students and Arts and Sciences students anticipating careers in law, business, or government. Concentrates on writing in a variety of forms of business discourse. Emphasizes practicing writing processes, developing an appropriate style, learning professional problem-solving, integrating oral and written communication, and using new communication technologies.
