GRADUATE PROGRAM CALENDAR- SUMMER 2013

 April 2 (Tues.) - Early Registration begins for Summer and Fall 2013 classes.

April 29 (Mon.) Last day to submit an M.A. thesis prospectus for an August 2013 degree. Prospectus must be approved at least three months prior to the final oral examination. Submit a Thesis/Dissertation Advisory Committee Appointment form (can be found here (login with your UofL userid & password). See the Graduate Program Guidelines for more information on the requirements and processes for prospecti.

May 13 (Mon)- Classes begin (Term I).

May 13 (Mon)- Last day of registration (Term I)

May 14 (Tues) - Last day to drop/add (Term I)

May 22 (Wed)- Last day to withdraw (Term I)

May 27 (Mon.) - Memorial Day -- No class, offices closed. (university holiday)

June 3  (Mon.) Last day of Term I classes.

June 4 (Tues)- Classes begin (Term II).

June 4 (Tues)- Last day of registration (Term II).

June 6  (Thurs.) Last day to drop/add (Term II)

June 7 (Fri.) Last day for August 2013 degree candidates to submit non-thesis option (culminating project) PROSPECTUS to the Graduate Program Assistant (englgrad@louisville.edu). Prospectus must be approved (either by signature or email) by your advisor before submission. See the Graduate Program Guidelines for more information on the requirements and processes for prospecti.

June 12 (Wed.)- Last day to apply for August 2013 degree (Term I). (Apply via Ulink.)

June 20 (Thurs)- Last day to withdraw (Term II).

June 29 (Sat)- Language proficiency exams: 9:00am-12:00 noon. (Pre-Register by June 14)  (contact the Graduate Program Assistant at englgrad@louisville.edu to register with your intended language .  Fee is 25$ CASH ONLY. ) 

July 4 (Thurs.) Independence Day. No class; offices closed. (University Holiday)

July 9 (Tues.)- Last day of classes (Term II).

July 10 (Wed.)- Classes begin (Term III).

July 10 (Wed.) - Last day of registration (Term III)

July 12 (Fri.)- Last day to drop/add (Term III).

July 26 (Fri.)- Last day to withdraw (Term III).

July 30 (Tues.)- Recommended last day for a thesis or dissertation Oral Defense for an August degree (submit Oral Examination Schedule form at least two weeks prior to defense to Graduate Program Assistant (can be found at http://graduate.louisville.edu/forms , or just send the defense information in an email to englgrad@louisville.edu ).

August 2 (Fri.)- Completed culminating projects (approved by your advisor) due to the Graduate Program Assistant (submit a paper copy (can be by postal mail)  AND a digital copy by email to englgrad@louisville.edu) .

August 5 to 9 (Mon.-Fri.) Recommended last week for culminating projects discussions with the CP Committee and your advisor for Summer 2013 degrees.  (These can be any time in Summer term as meets the convenience of the committee.) 

August 13 (Tues.) Last day for graduate students to submit defended theses/dissertations to the Graduate School (Houchens 105).

August 13(Tues.) Last day of Term III classes
