GRADUATE PROGRAM CALENDAR- SUMMER 2008

April (TBA) - Early Registration begins for Summer and Fall classes.

April 21- Last day to submit an M.A. thesis prospectus for an August degree. Prospectus must be approved at least three months prior to the final oral examination. Submit a Thesis/Dissertation Advisory Committee form.

May 12- Classes begin (Term I).

May 23- Last day to sign-up to take the Summer Language Proficiency Exam ($20.00 non-refundable CASH fee due today).

June 2- Last day for August degree candidates to submit non-thesis option (culminating project) PROSPECTUS to the Graduate Program Assistant. Prospectus must be approved by your advisor before submission.

June 3- Classes begin (Term II).

June 3- Last day of registration.

June 5- Last day to apply for August degree.

June 19- Last day to withdraw (Term II).

July 3- Last day of classes (Term II).

July 7- Classes begin (Term III).

July 7- Last day to withdraw (Term III).

July 12- Language proficiency exams: 9:00am-12:00 noon. (Pre-Registration required).

August 4- Recommended last day for a thesis or dissertation Oral Defense for an August degree (submit Oral Examination Schedule form at least two weeks prior to defense).

August 4- Completed culminating projects (approved by your advisor) due to the Graduate Program Assistant.

August 6 to 8- Culminating projects discussions with the Graduate Committee and your advisor.

August 8- Last day for graduate students to submit defended theses/dissertations to the Graduate School (Houchens 105).
