Through a review of current scholarship, we will familiarize ourselves with a range of pedagogical methods and the ways in which those strategies have been critiqued by practitioners in the field. Among other things, we will discuss the construction and implementation of writing exercises, ways to initiate and sustain discussion of both published and student work in a variety of group formats, the process of revision, and how to craft written responses to student work.
