I’m a 4th year Ph.D. student originally from West Virginia and have wanted to be involved in the teaching of college English for as long as I can remember. I received my B.A. in English from Marshall University in 2003 and my M.A. from UofL in 2005. I’ve taught various courses in composition, women’s literature, women’s studies, and in the writing center. Now that I’m nearing the end of my career as a student, I’m focusing on my dissertation which explores the literacy practices of an Amish community in southeast Ohio. (That's an Amish newspaper in the photo.) I’m also interested in teaching with technology, teacher training, research methods, feminist theory, and women’s literature. When I'm not being a scholar and a teacher, I enjoy journaling, playing guitar and flute, and listening to rock-n-roll. The best way to contact me is through my e-mail address, tabetha.adkins@louisville.edu. My website can be found at http://louisville.edu/~tjadki01.
