I can't tell you how excited I am to serve as a resource for writing students, my colleagues, and the rest of our faculty. Hopefully, I can put my interests in writing technologies to use in ways that support student learning. My teaching background includes First Year Composition, Business Writing, Advanced Writing, and Creative Writing. Topics about which I might be able to serve as a resource for you include: course blogs or wikis; Blackboard tips; audio comments on student papers; using the MS Word comment feature to structure peer-review sessions; the same comment feature to enact Welch's idea of “sideshadowing”; using student texts in the classroom; multimodal instruction and assignments; using Harris's /Rewriting/ as a course text; putting together a course pack at Gray's Book store, teaching as reflective practice. I also hope to serve as someone you seek out for a pep talk or to vent. I look forward to helping out however I can.
