I'm a 2nd year PhD student who sandwiched a 4-year undergraduate trip to Ohio among 20+ years of living in Louisville. My B.A. from the University of Dayton featured coursework in English and Political Science. Although I have an English degree, my love for writing, rhetoric, and composition theory developed from my college newspaper and writing center work. Being a big fan of this city, I returned home from UD to continue my education at the University of Louisville. As I enter my fourth year in the English Graduate Program, I am interested in examining audience constructions in different contexts, especially in regards to popular media. Other scholarly points of interest include first-year composition, writing centers, cultural studies, speech act theory, and myth construction. Classes I teach include English 101 and 102, Honors English 105, and Business Writing. The majority of my free time is spent on my bicycle, as I enjoy both leisurely and not-so leisurely rides throughout the Louisville area.
