Please join us for the Wittreich Lecture with Dr. Anita Guerrini, Professor of History at Oregon State University, to discuss the topic of "Animal, Humans and History."

Anita Guerrini is the Horning Professor of the Humanities and Professor of History at Oregon State University. She is a historian of the life sciences and medicine, with strong interests in environmental history and animal studies. The subject of her Wittreich lecture, "Animals, Humans, and History" forms part of her current book project - 'The Courtiers' Anatomists' - a study of the relationship between animals, anatomy and natural history in the Paris of Louis XIV. She is also completing a study of the ecological history of a Santa Barbara wetland. Prof. Guerrini's previous distinguished publications include 'Experimenting with Humans and Animals. From Galen to Animal Rights' (Johns Hopkins, 2003).
