John Trimbur
Emerson College
John Trimbur has written extensively on the politics of language practices in the U.S. and South Africa. Currently Professor of Writing, Literature, and Publishing and Director of the First-Year Writing Program at Emerson College, he has also held appointments as Visiting Professor at the University of Cape Town, South Africa, Resident Fellow at the University of Capetown's Centre for Rhetoric Studies, Affiliated Scholar of the Pembroke Center for the Study and Teaching of Women at Brown University, and the Paris Fletcher Distinguished Professor of Humanities at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
Professor Trimbur's lecture is sponsored by the Bonnie Fund, the Commonwealth Center for the Humanities and Society, the Watson Endowment, and the Endowed Chair in Rhetoric and Composition.
