Marianne Boruch's work includes five collections of poetry: Poems New and Selected, A Stick that Breaks and Breaks, Moss Burning, Descendant, and View from the Gazebo; as well as two books of essays: In the Blue Pharmacy: Essays on Poetry and Other Transformations and Poetry's Old Air. Her poems and essays have been published in The New Yorker, The Nation, The Iowa Review, and The Georgia Review, and been anthologized in The Best American Poetry (1997), Boomer Girls, Poets of the New Century, Poets Reading: The Field Symposia, and elsewhere. Her awards include two Pushcart Prizes, the Terrence DePres Award from Parnassus, two fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and a Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship. She has taught at Purdue University since 1987 and directed its MFA program from 1987 to 2005.
