Please join us Monday, March 1, 2010, for the Larry Barker Lecture in Southern Letters featuring Doreen Fowler. Dr. Fowler will be presenting a lecture entitled "Flannery O'Connor's 'Productive Violence'" in the Chao Auditorium at 3:00 PM. A reception will follow the lecture.

Doreen Fowler is a leading authority on the writing of William Faulkner, an the author of Faulkner's Changing Vision: From Outrage to Affirmation (1983) and Faulkner: The Return of the Repressed (1997). She has also co-edited 11 scholarly books on Faulkner. Her current work-in-progress is titled Fathers at the Border: Race, Gender, and Community in Faulkner, Wright, O'Connor, and Morrison.
